2016 MTV VMAs: Best and Worst Dressed List

One of the most exciting things about a red carpet is the anticipation. What is everyone going to wear? We can certainly count on celebrities for crazy surprises.

However, this year, my biggest revelation was the minimalism of the outfits that have blown me away.  And just when you think you know exactly what to expect from your idols, they prove once again, that less is definitely more.

Kim Kardashian

I must admit I am not always a fan of her red carpet looks. Kim knows she can pull anything off and sometimes abuses the privilege. However, the summer ‘coming out of the water’ look starring her beautiful beachy wet hair, a see through, off the shoulder mini dress was the perfect way to show off her post-baby toned body. A fresh makeup completed this look stunningly, and I am a big fan of the jewellery too!

Nicki Minaj

If there was an acceptable way of going commando, that would be it. The shape of her dress married her curves beautifully and the cut out details were just revealing enough to compensate the length and shape of the dress. It’s classy, elegant, sexy, daring but totally appropriate!

Zara Larsson

Minimal and yet striking! Zara knows exactly how to mix classy with edgy. This dress is a perfect choice for her petite figure, showing a little bit of skin but not too much. It’s age appropriate and she looks divine. Her hair always looks so shiny!

Rita Ora

There is way too much going on here. A bit of a shame as the outfit takes the attention away from her natural beauty.

Farrah Abraham

This isn’t a ‘bad’ outfit, but it just isn’t Halloween yet.

Jaden Smith

I love that Jaden is really expressing himself and his personality though his fashion, but the outfit just doesn’t work for me.
