2018 MTV VMAs Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need to Know About the Big Show

The year’s biggest event in music is FINALLY HERE — the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards have officially landed in the Big Apple! All of our favorite music industry icons and up-and-comers have been gearing up for tonight’s show, which comes back to where it all began in 1984 —  the famed Radio City Music Hall.

This year, the VMAs will have NO host. So, to get you ready, we’ve created a moon-person approved cheat sheet with all the info you may have missed and will need to have the navigate through tonight’s festivities!

Who is performing?

Jennifer Lopez is the performance we all are ‘Waiting For Tonight!’ The pop star is this year’s recipient of the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, following P!NK, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Janet Jackson, and the list of icons goes on.

Additional performers tonight include Nicki Minaj (Remote Show Performer), Aerosmith, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Travis Scott, Post Malone with 21 Savage, LOGIC featuring Ryan Tedder, Panic! At The Disco, and Maluma. (Cardi B is no longer set to perform.)

The Backstreet BoysBazzi and Bryce Vine will perform at The Sound Drop by PEPSI® Pre-Show, and Jessie Reyez, PrettyMuch, Bazzi, Hayley Kiyoko and Juice WRLD will perform on the Push Artist Stage or the and perform on the red carpet at the official pre-show airing live on Twitter at 7:30pm EST.

Who is presenting?

This year, the Video of the Year moon person will be presented by Madonna! Also pinned as presenters this year are Kevin Hart & Tiffany Haddish, who are promoting their latest film (“Night School”), Lenny Kravitz, Millie Bobby Brown, Liam Payne, Backstreet Boys, Keegan Michael Key & Olivia Munn, Anna Kendrick & Blake Lively (“A Simple Favor”), Amandla Stenberg, Algee Smith, Sabrina Carpenter, Rita Ora, BeBe Rexha, DJ Khaled, G-Eazy, Gucci Mane, KYLE & Teyana Taylor, Lil Uzi Vert, Maluma, Shay Mitchell, Shanina Shaik, Ken Jeong, Karlie Kloss, and Social House.

Who is hosting this year?

The MTV VMA Pre-Show will be hosted by actor and host Terrence J, TV Personality Nessa, and Jersey Shore Family Vacation’s Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino.

The live broadcast event will be hosted by… NO ONE. This year the MTV VMA’s will be host-less, but we’re almost positive that .

Where can I livestream the show?

The show will be available for livestream starting at 7:30pm ET on MTV’s Twitter account. The livestream will be hosted by Erik Zachary (MTV Digital) and Justina Valentina (Wild ‘N Out).

When does it all start?

The VMAs pre-show will begin on MTV at 8pm ET, followed by the live show at 9pm ET!
