71st Primetime Emmy Awards: Who Will Be the Big Winner?

Earlier this month, the Television Academy revealed the nominees in each category for the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards and its stacked with the one show that people could not stop talking about all year — Game of Thrones.

Between the series and its actors, GOT tallied up 32 nods at this year’s ceremony, making it the most nominated program at the show this fall. While we would love to see GOT turn out the big winner on September 22, it may unfortunately not happen. So many of the nominations are in the same categories, making it hard for GOT to even win half of them. The best supporting actress category has 4 GOT actresses alone!

With GOT not winning every award its up for, it makes us think about our options. Shows like Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (20 nods), HBO’s Chernobyl (19), Saturday Night Live (18), HBO’s Barry and FX’s Fosse/Verdon (17 each), and Netflix’s When They See Us (16) can end up being the big winner of the evening, and it may or may not receive positive feedback from fans watching at home.

Let us know what you think of this year’s nominees by sending us a tweet at @celebsecrets and make sure to catch the 71st Primetime Emmys airing LIVE from the Microsoft Theater on Sunday, September 22nd @ 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
