It’s been about a week since TikTok sensation and social media influencer Addison Rae released her debut single, “Obsessed,” and she has since made her debut TV performance and appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
This past Friday (March 26), Rae went on the show to not only perform her pop hit but also share a couple of popular TikTok dances with Fallon.

During the segment, the host was holding cue cards with different dance names on them, such as “Savage” and “Blinding Lights,” which Rae would then perform the corresponding dance for.
But of course, Fallon couldn’t do the bit without showing off his own dancing skills during the duo’s own choreographed dance routine. (We totally think Jimmy should start his own TikTok dance trend!)

Besides performing “Obsessed” and sharing her TikTok roots with Fallon, Rae also shared the time that singer Mariah Carey actually liked one of her TikToks, where Rae had Carey’s song of the same title playing in the background. Which would eventually lead to a Facetime call between the two where Carey sang her Christmas hit, “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” to Rae.
Since her debut appearance on the Tonight Show, both Rae and Fallon have been receiving a bit of backlash on social media due to them not crediting the creators of the TikTok dances they performed.
Many stated that the original creators should have been invited onto the show to teach Fallon the dances themselves, while others have pointed out that this wasn’t the first time the Tonight Show had done this. Other TikTok star, Charli D’Amelio, did the segment with Fallon in March of last year and the show received backlash then for doing the same thing.
Neither Rae nor Fallon have commented on the matter.
