Alessia Cara Headlines 7th Annual Rock the Red Kettle Concert at Universal CityWalk

Earlier this month, 97.1 AMP RADIO, along with The Salvation Army, hosted the 7th Annual Rock the Red Kettle Concert at 5 Towers Universal CityWalk on Sunday, December 6th in Los Angeles.

The event kicked off with the Rock the Red Kettle band putting us in the Christmas spirit by performing an amazing cover of Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Following the band, DJ Babyyu pumped up the crowd with his awesome remixes, making everyone want to dance before headliner Alessia Cara took the stage.

Cara sang her entire debut album Know It All from start to finish, including our personal favorite “I’m Yours.” Throughout her set, the 20 year old took time to introduce each song she was about to sing and gave some inspiring advice along with it. One of our favorite words of wisdom from the singer was before she sang her new single “Seventeen.”

“Live in the present. Don’t think too far ahead. Don’t try to rush your life because it is awesome! We’re really lucky to be living it and to be alive!”

This is something that everyone needs to be reminded of; don’t focus too much on the future and just enjoy the present. Last but certainly not least, Alessia closed the show with her smash hit and debut single “Here,” surprising us with a new verse.
