Aliyah Moulden Dishes on Landing Lead Role in Netflix’s “Anastasia: Once Upon A Time”

Aliyah Moulden stole our hearts when she competed on Team Blake during The Voice this past season. America seemed to agree with our opinion, as she was the youngest contestant to ever make it to the finale.

Aliyah may not have won the competition, but she wins in many other ways. The 15-year-old just landed the lead role in Netflix’s Anastasia: Once Upon A Time and is working on new, original music.

Celeb Secrets caught up with Moulden recently to talk about being apart of Anastasia: Once Upon A Time. She also weighed in on her time at The Voice and that she really wants a boyfriend (aw)!

Celeb Secrets: You just landed a lead role in the Netflix original movie “Anastasia: Once Upon A Time!” What are you most excited for about this endeavor?  

Aliyah Moulden: “I did just land a lead role in Anastasia.  I am most excited about having the opportunity to work with such a talented cast such as Emily Carey, and Amiah Miller.  Also, I am so excited about working under Producers Armando Gutierrez, Eli Lipnik, Peter Lees and Bret Jones, and director Blake Harris.  I know that I will learn so much from this experience, and my live will be greatly enriched by doing this project.”

Celeb Secrets: How do you relate to your character in the film?

Aliyah Moulden: “I can totally relate to my character in the film.  She is a pop star of the 1980.   She is an Icon in music and fashion. I simply love my character in the film.  I love that era of time, and the fashion of that time.”

Celeb Secrets: What can we expect to see from you in this Netflix original?  

Aliyah Moulden: “You can expect music, singing, fashion, friendship, and lots of fun.”

Celeb Secrets: Do you think your time on The Voice has helped you prepare for this role? If so, how?  

Aliyah Moulden: “I do believe my time on The Voice has helped me prepare for this role.  During my time in The Voice, I learned that I have to be very dedicated to my craft.  I learned that I have to be focused, and believe that I can achieve my goals.”  

Celeb Secrets: What were some valuable lessons you learned from Blake on The Voice?  

Aliyah Moulden: “Some of the valuable lessons that I learned from Blake on The Voice is that I learned that I have to know my audience.  He told me to listed to those around me that have more experience than I do in order for me to be successful.”

Celeb Secrets: What makes you unique from other artists that made you win over so many fans on The Voice?

Aliyah Moulden: “I believe what makes me unique from other artists is that I was willing to try many different genres of music and love it.  I am willing to be challenged and to try new things.  I believe that I am able to take positive input to improve myself, and to grow and change.”

Celeb Secrets: When can we expect to hear new music from you?

Aliyah Moulden: “I am working with a few music producers now.  I believe that by the end of the year I should have a few singles out.”

Celeb Secrets: Since we are Celeb Secrets, what is a secret about yourself that you would like to share with us?  

Aliyah Moulden: I would like to share my Celeb Secret.  My secret is that I would like to have a boyfriend.  I don’t have one because my mom believes that I need to have a good friend first.
