Alli Simpson Heads to Brazil for 2016 Rio Summer Olympics – Get the Scoop on What She’ll Be Doing!

A few days ago, Alli Simpson and her brother Cody Simpson hopped on a plane to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics!

The Aussie siblings will be running with the Olympic flame in the official torch relay during the opening ceremony.

Celeb Secrets sat down with Alli before she boarded her plane to talk about this once-in-a-lifetime experience! In our interview, Simpson talked about what she’s most excited for in Rio, and her new self-titled app. She also tells us she’s not giving in to playing Pokémon Go and upcoming music she’s been working on — make sure to read the full Q&A below!

Celeb Secrets: How excited are you to be heading to Rio for the 2016 Olympics? 

Alli Simpson: “Honestly, I am over the moon with excitement and wonder! What we are getting to do is a once in a lifetime experience and I’m going to take in every moment, breathe and make long lasting memories for myself.”

Celeb Secrets: What event are you most excited to see at Rio? 

Alli Simpson: “I was lucky enough to visit Rio about a month ago, travelling with Coca Cola and toured the Olympic site and the wonders of the city and got to experience the amazing culture. Everyone is very team orientated, which is why I think Rio hosting the Olympics is going to make it an insane event! It’s such a beautiful place. I can’t wait to explore the city more.”

Celeb Secrets: You recently released your own self-titled app, can you tell us more about it? 

Alli Simpson: “Yes, The Alli Simpson App. It’s a place where all my friends and fans can hang out and find out everything there is to know about me….all things Alli! It’s an app where everyone can keep updated on what I’m up to. I also post blogs and entry’s on there all time about all things fashion, boys, advice related. It’s good fun & super cute. I have all my past Radio Disney Interviews on the app as well, from Justin Bieber, Gwen Stefani, Nick Jonas, Gigi Hadid, Selena and my bro Cody.”

Celeb Secrets: What inspired you to create the app?

Alli Simpson: “I just wanted to have a fun platform for my audience that has all of my stuff in one place!”

Celeb Secrets: Other than your own, what 3 apps can you not live without?

Alli Simpson: “Instagram, Snapchat & Twitter!”

Celeb Secrets: Over the past few years, you’ve interviewed quite a few A-list celebrities. What has been your most memorable interview yet and why?

Alli Simpson: “I’ve had such an amazing opportunity to interview some of the best people, but one that stood out to me and was the most empowering to my soul was Gwen Stefani. She is such an icon and role model to me. She was so humble, sweet & fun. She also called me a real life Barbie doll, and shared some good advice with me! So that’s one to remember.”

Celeb Secrets: You recently tweeted “catch waves not Pokemon lol”, does that mean you’re one of the few who haven’t given into the “Pokemon Go” hype?

Alli Simpson: “Haha! Yes I haven’t given in. I personally wouldn’t be interested in playing it. I loved Pokemon when I was young but I just don’t really have time for it now, I’d rather be spending my time on other productive things and helping others! But I do think it’s awesome game for young kids, or purely for people to get out and about and of the couch. A good excuse to explore and exercise!”

Celeb Secrets: Are you working on any upcoming projects at the moment? 

Alli Simpson: “Yes! I am working very hard on my own radio show with Radio Disney. “The Alli Simpson Show” I am working to make it bigger and better and have some super excited guests coming up in the near future!

I am also throwing myself into recording new music, I’ve released a couple songs in the past but it was all in the name of fun. But I’m diving into the deep end now and I am so excited to have you all hear what I’ve been working on.”

Celeb Secrets: Since we are Celeb Secrets, can you tell us a secret or fun fact about yourself that your fans may not know about? 

Alli Simpson: “A fun fact that I’d say only really my best friends know me is that I write in a journal everyday. I take a small book with me everywhere I go and write down whatever comes to mind. Whether it’s a word, a sentence, a picture, a thought, or a story! It’s like my little baby. I love my journal.”
