American Idol XIV: “American Classics” Night Recap – April 15, 2015 (@AmericanIdol #Idol)

American Idol XIV honored “American Classics” for its sixth week of live shows at CBS Studios on Wednesday evening (April 15) in Los Angeles.

The show kicked off with Tyanna Jones being the first contestant making it to the next round with an excellent performance of “Why Do Fools Fall In Love.” After Tyanna, Clark Beckham, Jax, Nick Fradiani and Quentin Alexander were put through to next week, performing their own renditions of “Superstition,” “Piece Of My Heart,” “American Girl,” “Are You Gonna Go My Way,” respectively.

After their performances, America learned that Joey Cook and Rayvon Owen were officially the bottom two contestants this week and will take part in the Idol Fan Save vote via Twitter.

One moment that really reminded us that American Idol is live was after Quentin Alexander‘s performance, when he said that it was “wack” to see Joey in the bottom two. Judge Harry Connick, Jr. slammed back at Quentin saying that if he is not happy with how things are run at Idol, he can leave the competition at any time. Alexander clarified what he actually meant by “wack” and then proceeded into the green room.

After the bottom two were announced, Tyanna, Clark, Jax, Nick and Quentin returned to the Idol stage for a second round of performances.

For the Idol Fan Save, Joey Cook performed “My Funny Valentine” and Rayvon Owen performed “Always On My Mind.” After the Twitter vote, Rayvon Owen was saved again to return for another week.

Are you happy with tonight’s results? Make sure to tune in next Wednesday @ 8PM ET/PT to watch your favorites perform!
