American Idol XIV celebrated judges’ hometowns and soul on the eighth week of live shows on Wednesday evening (April 29) in Los Angeles, Calif.

The show kicked off with a little recap from the Top 5’s trip to Nashville, Tenn. with mentor and Big Machine Label Group CEO Scott Borchetta. Scott brought the contestants to his recording studio and visited the world-famous Bluebird Café, where Brochetta discovered global sensation Taylor Swift.

After the Nashville recap, The Water Diviner‘s Russell Crowe delivered the results to host Ryan Seacrest. The first performer to take the stage was Clark Beckham, perfuming his soulful rendition of “Living For the City.” Following Clark, Jax celebrated J-Lo‘s hometown of the Bronx with Alicia Keys‘ “Empire State of Mind.” Nick Fradiani got the crowd hyped with a performance of Matchbox 20’s “Bright Lights.”

After Clark, Jax and Nick were put through to the semi-finals, it was time to learn the fate of the bottom two contestants — Tyanna Jones and Rayvon Owen. For the fourth week in a row, Rayvon Owen was saved yet again for another week. Unfortunately, Tyanna Jones’ run on Idol came to a close.

After the results, Rayvon performed his rendition of “Need You Now.” Following Ravyon, guest mentor Martina McBride took the stage to perform her latest single “Over The Rainbow.” After Martina, the Top 4 contestants performed their second songs for the evening; Clark Beckham performed “Your Man,” Jax performed Christina Perri’s “Human,” Rayvon Owen performed Justin Bieber’s “Believe,” and Nick Fradiani performed Rascal Flatts’ “What Hurts The Most.”

At the end of the show, it was announced that finalist Jax would be performing with Steven Tyler at the Grand Finale — how awesome is that?

The Top 4 contestants are Nick Fradiani, Clark Beckham, Jax, and Rayvon Owen.
