Anja Kotar is giving us a new aged love story with her song “Modern Galileo!”
The song, released last Friday, teleports audiences to another universe where neon lights and technology reign.
“With its use of 80s video game sounds and 808 beats, ‘Modern Galileo’ is an ode to the age of technology,” says Kotar. “It explores a new age love story: one between the screen and us.” When combining Kotar’s precise tone with cutting edge melodies it creates the ideal soundtrack to the tale of the modern-day Galileo.
The 21-year old Slovenian pop songstress began her musical journey at the age of five. Following her love of the piano, Kotar began studying at Berklee College of Music. It was there that she focused on her craft and grew as an artist and a creative. Funneling her originality into fashion, as well as music, Kotar’s online store Too Cool showcases her imaginative design skills through eccentric earrings, socks and hats. Since releasing her debut album, NOMAD, Kotar’s music has accumulated over 230K streams on Spotify.

1. I’m fascinated by traveling and exploring the world, different cultures, and ways of life
– an appreciation that has no doubt risen from the fact that my parents have always
loved to travel and have therefore taken me and my brother to numerous unforgettable
locations.
2. I have a completely incidental interest and appreciation of the tech world – I live in
San Jose (the heart of Silicon Valley), my parents work in tech, and my brother is
studying computer science and is the world’s biggest Elon Musk aficionado. I’m always
on the lookout to use ideas from tech and incorporate them into my own music.
3. I absolutely adore nail art! My love for it started a few years ago when I discovered it
on Pinterest. Since then, I’ve garnered quite a collection on my mood board – from
countless nail artists to designs, I love matching my nails to different occasions and time
of year. Did my Valentine’s Day manicure consist of 10 unique love-day related items,
one for each finger? Why yes, yes it did.
4. Despite the fact that I love performing and meeting new people, I’m actually a total
introvert. I truly enjoy being alone as it helps me to recharge, gather my thoughts, and
plan for what’s ahead. Nothing beats a good Stephen King book and a warm bubble
bath! 🙂
5. Working out is a huge part of my daily life. I take Barre3 classes 6 times a week – it
helps me strengthen my body to get ready for performances and focus my mind.
