Anna Dellaria Releases Music Video for Relatable Anthem “Cut You Loose” (Watch)

Anna Dellaria is over toxic relationships!

The budding songstress just dropped the music video for her latest single “Cut You Loose” and we can’t get enough of it. Liberating all of us who have been in similar situations, the infectious summer track follows Dellaria’s transformation from timid to bold after cutting ties with a toxic partner.

On creating the song, Dellaria says, “I was in the studio with the producer, Zack Djurich (Kanye West, Teyana Taylor), and he just started playing this bouncy guitar line. I immediately went to the mic and recorded this rhythmic verse drenched in attitude. At it’s core the song essentially calls out an ex who never believed you’d really leave, and now just keeps waiting for you to come back, but won’t admit it. It’s liberating as hell to yell “I’m gonna say goodbye” – I highly recommend it.”

The music video, which you can watch below, was shot all around the city of Los Angeles with different moods and vibes. “I’m kind of hoping that it’s a fun video to watch and for people to imagine that we’re all out in the summer having a good time,” she told Celeb Secrets over an IG Livestream.

Unlike other artists, Dellaria chose to release the song during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement early last month, however, continued to remain silent on social media to stand in solidarity with the Black community. The best part? Any revenue the pop artist received went straight to causes that have been taking immediate action towards change.

The LA-based singer calls the process “really interesting” as it’s “just out there for people to listen to.”

“I had this release planned in April, and obviously right before the Tuesday of the release, things turned into a really beautiful ‘Black Out Tuesday’. I took a moment of isolation and education with the BLM movement and once I found that out, it felt really insensitive to release this song,” Dellaria tells Celeb Secrets. “I called my team and it was too late to take it down from DSPs, so we decided to take any of the streaming revenue and donate it to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. I’m hoping that helps contribute because it was during a time that I would normally not put out music.”

“Cut You Loose” is the follow-up to Dellaria’s previous single “Break Me Down,” which she wrote after coming out of my experience with depression and anxiety. “It got to a point where I really needed to reach out and get help,” she shares. “This song was written during that time in my life where I was struggling with how far will I let this go I really didn’t know how I was going to get out of it, but I just made a commitment to just figure it out and not let it completely take my identity which unfortunately so many mental illnesses can do.”

The San Francisco native uses her flaws to start a fire. Translating lyrical catharsis through bold and powerful vocal delivery, she doesn’t back down from darkness; rather, she turns it into light… That approach has unassumingly drawn the spotlight to her after a lifetime dedicated to the craft.

While studying at USC’s Thornton School of Music, she devoted ten hours a day to honing her voice—often sleeping in the practice rooms. Through the program, she caught the attention of early supporters and industry icons like Rob Cavallo, while also performing alongside artists like John Fogerty and more. Dellaria’s voice gained nationwide recognition after the iPhone demo of her song “Bolder” aired in the season finale of TV Land’s, “Younger”, igniting a flurry of inquiry and partnerships with Shazam and Apple Music for a formal release.  Her recent releases have been featured across television and film, on networks ranging from HBO to Nickelodeon.
