Ariana Grande Is Now The Most Followed Woman On Instagram

Ariana Grande is reaching milestone after milestone yet it’s only February!

With all the devastating news circulations and sky-rocketing successes within the last year, Ariana Grande has increasingly been in everyone’s minds. Because of all of this, she’s gained more than 100,000 followers than Selena Gomez, who held the number one spot for three years.

She’s gained more than 13 million new Instagram followers in the last four months due to her strong social media presence and her record-breaking success with the release of her newest album, Thank U, Next, which is now in its second week at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Recently, Grande became the first artist since the Beatles to have songs in the top three spots of the Billboard Hot 100 charts with her singles “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored,” “Thank U, Next,” and “7 Rings.”

In comparison, Gomez took a major break from social media back in September before seeking mental health treatment. “Taking a social media break… As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given,” Selena wrote before departing. “Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings.”

Since then, the “Back To You” singer has been occasionally posting on Instagram. Both singers are still slightly below soccer superstar Cristiano Renaldo, who has garnered a large following of 155 million followers.
