You may know Beautycon best as a seasonal beauty festival that brings together top makeup gurus and popular beauty brands across major cities like NYC and LA. But now, the brand is bringing Los Angeles crowds a special, experimental pop up experience called Beautycon POP.
This pop up is composed of eight immersive, highly Instagrammable photo stops, with the brand HYPNO on site to help guests create social media-worthy videos with the displays instantly. There’s also the BeautyconSHOP, which is billed as their “first retail space featuring 20 indie, female-founded beauty brands whose products are inclusive and formulated for the underserved audiences Beautycon has always been driven to represent.”
In addition to these events, Beautycon POP also features the SALON presented by Macy’s, which offers exclusive demos and tutorials for brows to blowouts at the affordable $20 fee.
The pop-up event celebrated an Open House event on October 15, with tons of influencers, beauty industry professionals, and entrepreneurs.
Beautycon Media’s CEO, Moj Mahdara, hosted a panel discussion centered around how retail is learning from the beauty industry. Panelists who spoke at the event included indie beauty leaders Carina Chaz (Founder, Dedcool), KJ Miller (Co-Founder, Mented Cosmetics), Kristen Noel Crawley (Founder, KNC Beauty), Lynnsee van Gordon (Founder, Anese) and Nadia Babar (Founder, Kálos). Model and body positivity activist Iskra Lawrence also stopped by the Beautycon POP event to check out all the photo-worthy galleries and listen to the panel discussion.
“Beauty is loving yourself and loving your looks on your terms,” KJ Miller shared during the event. “It can’t be on someone else’s terms. YOU have to define it – it will fluctuate but you have to love yourself the way it makes sense to you.”’
Beautycon POP is now open to the public, through December 16. You can pick up your tickets now for $45.00. The pop up is located at 333 S La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048.
