The first round of performers have been announced for the 2020 MTV VMAs later this month and the lineup is star-studded.
Earlier today, MTV confirmed that BTS, J Balvin and Doja Cat will be taking the stage at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for this year’s VMAs, marking BTS’ VMA debut and the television premiere of their first English-only single “Dynamite,” out August 21.

Each performer is up for multiple moon-people this year. J Balvin brought in a total of four nominations this year, while both BTS and Doja Cat earned three. MTV released the full list of nominees last week, with Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga leading the pack with nine each, followed by Billie Eilish and The Weeknd with six nominations. Fans can vote for their favorites across 15 gender-neutral categories, including “Video of the Year,” “Artist of the Year,” “Best Quarantine Performance,” and more by visiting vma.mtv.com through August 23, 2020. Voting for “PUSH Best New Artist, Presented by Chime Banking,” will remain active into the show on Sunday, August 30, 2020.
