Hollywood’s biggest celebrities are lending their voices for a special concept album in honor of National Gun Violence Awareness Day (June 2) today.
GUNS is a pop/rock concept album aimed at the most controversial and widely debated issue in America. The album launches June 22nd and proceeds from the album will go to the EVERYTOWN USA. GUNS emerges in an effort to simultaneously smash wide open the mold of musical entertainment, expose the many sides to this contentious epidemic, and most importantly: to make the listening experience infectious. With over 300,000,000 guns in the United States today, more must be done to make this topic accessible, and we believe creators Jonathan Sokolow & Braxton Molinaro have found the sound to do it.
Recorded at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Productions in Santa Monica, the compilation of songs chronicle the vast and ever-evolving points of view encompassing the American gun discussion. From filmic anthems to filthy hip hop, flashy show tunes to funky electronic, the album emerges to smash the mold of musical entertainment, highlight the mushrooming epidemic and further educate the public through arts and entertainment.
