CelebSecrets4U Chats with Judges After So You Think You Can Dance Season 12 Callbacks – Watch the Videos!

So You Think You Can Dance moved to Vegas for the first day of callbacks this week, and we got the scoop about what’s to come this season from judges Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul, Jason Derulo and host Cat Deeley. Last night’s episode was filled with both happy and sad tears. The callbacks round had two rounds within to make it to the Top 20 — an original solo and a choreographed piece which was performed in groups. For the solo, the dancers performed a minute-long original piece for the judges, which determined if they made it to the choreographed round. Other contestants from the same team were able to watch their competitors, but contestants on the opposing team were not able to see what their competition did for the judges.

The judges started the callbacks with pep talks for each contestant. Jason tells the dancers to take risks, because everyone has something unique inside. Paula says, “Ignore your head and follow your heart and shine.” Nigel brings down the mood saying, “90 percent of you will not make the final destination.”

Each dancer’s journey during last night’s episode was very emotional. A newlywed couple were put through to Vegas and after they performed, the wife was put through to the next round while her husband didn’t make the cut. A lot of the kids on Team Street have never learned choreography before, so they were feeling extremely pressured while performing the hip-hop routine choreographed by Jamal Sims. But who will pull through and make it into the Top 20? Make sure to tune in next Monday, July 3rd @ 8PM ET/PT to see who makes it into the live show competition!

Check out our interviews with judges Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul, Jason Derulo and host Cat Deeley below.
