Charles Esten Gives Julia Cole the Ultimate Surprise at CMA Fest

What a weekend it was for Julia Cole!

The budding country songstress had a packed few days while performing at the 2022 CMA Music Festival in Nashville, where she performed some of her most viral songs on various stages across Music City.

Cole has been making waves in the genre ever since she’s shared her honest, raw and often humorous songs that encourage empowerment and self-worth. Getting the seal of approval from millions of fans, next-generation peers like Alexandra Kay, Spencer Crandall, Cooper Alan and Thomas Mac and household names like Charles Esten, the Houston-based artist is easily writing her ticket to long-term stardom one release at a time.

Throughout the week, Esten joined the “Side Piece” singer onstage to sing their heartfelt duet “Worst Day,” and they received a roaring applause for their stunning live rendition. On Friday (June 10), fans weren’t the only ones surprised when he joined Julia on the Hard Rock Stage at CMA Fest… the former Nashville star arrived in a custom Julia Cole tee that he and his wife Patty secretly commissioned on-the-fly to show Julia that he’s one of her biggest fans.

“Chip (Charles) has been so generous, as a collaborator and a friend. He’s graciously welcomed me onto many of his stages, so it felt great to invite him onto a few of mine,” Julia tells Celeb Secrets Country exclusively. “For him to walk onstage in a Julia Cole shirt was the sweetest (and most shocking) surprise. He consistently proves what a kind, supportive champion he truly is…not to mention how much we both believe in our duet ‘Worst Day.'”

In addition to her Hard Rock Stage performance, Julia hopped on the Dr. Pepper stage to perform “Things I Can’t Say” with Spencer Crandall, a song that has earned over 17M streams on Spotify alone. She also performed at Whiskey Jam’s Outdoor Summer Series and the BMI Block Party while making appearances at the Folds of Honor Celebrity Softball Game and Jessie James Decker‘s Kittenish Fashion Show, as well as hosting the Chevy Riverfront Stage.

Up next, Julia will be headed to Atlanta to play a show at the iconic Eddie’s Attic on June 29th. Touted as the intimate songwriter’s venue in the city, all genres are featured there and is where John Mayer and Zac Brown Band’s Clay Cook got their start. Fans can purchase tickets for the special show here.

In addition, Julia will head back to Nashville this July for her Grand Ole Opry debut on Saturday, July 16. The star-in-the-making will share the stage with Eric Paslay, with more artists to be announced in the coming weeks. You can purchase tickets here.
