Christian Cowan is making some changes to his signature looks for his new Fall/Winter 2020 collection and to no surprise, we’re absolutely loving it.
The young designer, who is known for embracing the millennial fantasy in his pieces, showcased his latest collection at Spring Studios on Tuesday (February 11) during NYFW: The Shows 2020 in New York City.

Celeb Secrets was lucky enough to score an invite to one of the most buzzworthy shows this month and obviously I was super stoked about it. Upon arrival, lines were wrapped around the corner with invited guests anxiously waiting for the doors to open; I even heard security mention that over 800 guests RSVP’d for the highly-anticipated show, and not everyone would be making it inside. That’s how crazy this was.
After finding my seat, I couldn’t help but get excited for what the next 15-minutes would bring. This was my first time at one of Cowan’s events and it truly felt like a movie. Tons of friends and family of the designer, celebs and industry VIPs were crowding around the runway for selfies while the press was seen taking photos of every important person in the audience before taking their positions to shoot the show.

As the lights dimmed and the music got louder, everyone (including myself) had their phones out ready to catch a glimpse of what Cowan was about to showcase for next season. After look one — a leopard jacquard suit — made its way down the runway, it was evident that Cowan indeed grew up by making his over-the-top looks seem a little more tangible, probable and real.
The underlying theme behind each piece was his interpretation of the mindset of this generation: power, celebration and flexing on social media. For power, Cowan used leopard jacquard; for celebration, he used fireworks (instead of florals); and for Instagram flexing, the young designer used a tessellated Lamborghini jacquard in lime green and violet. because who doesn’t show off their expensive things on social media?
