The MTV Video Music Awards red carpet took a sudden turn on Sunday night (Sept. 12) when UFC champion Conor McGregor and Machine Gun Kelly allegedly got into an altercation with each other at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
A source recently told Page Six that the two “got into a fight at the top of the carpet” and “had to be pulled apart.” The two were asked to take a photo together. However, Kelly’s team denied the request. After the 33-year-old professional fighter got turned down, he sparked the brawl by yelling at the “bloody valentine” artist.
According to a video that surfaced on social media, McGregor had to be restrained by security guards. “Conor went in on it a little,” an unknown source told PEOPLE. The eye-whiteness told the entertainment magazine that he dropped his cane and began swinging towards the hitmaker.

The photographers at the show were upset at McGregor, because they thought his actions would keep MGK and Megan Fox from walking the star-studded carpet. If the fan-favorite couple did not make an appearance, the paparazzi was set to “boycott Conor,” says the Page Six source in the exclusive interview.
However, no actions were taken – as the hot couple walked the carpet shortly after the unexpected fight. While showing PDA, the two served up steamy looks. Kelly stepped into the limelight in a head-to-toe glittery red suit with Fox on his arm in a sexy Mugler design.
As MGK and Fox stole the show, McGregor and his girlfriend Dee Devlin also continued to pose for photos ops down the carpet. Before the MTV Brawl – the two men did not have beef. In fact, MGK was last seen supporting McGregor at his UFC 260 Fight in Los Vegas with Fox, Kourtney Kardashian, and Travis Barker back in March.
