Dan + Shay brought their addictive music to the west coast for Jimmy Kimmel Live! and it was everything we dreamed of and more.
The platinum-selling duo — Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney — performed their global smash “Tequila” as well as their new single “Speechless” to a packed crowd at the outdoor stage in Hollywood.
“Tequila” continues its ascension as it becomes the No. 4 most-streamed country song of 2018. With more than 186 million on-demand streams to date, the single also held a multi-week command of the Country Airplay charts. This week its cinematic music video, which boasts 32 million views, notched a second week atop CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown. Dan + Shay recently released a R3HAB remix of the tune, which has garnered nearly three million streams on Spotify alone and has been featured on the platform’s Global and US Viral 50, Canada Viral 50, New Music Friday, Mood Booster, Daily Lift and Workout playlists, among others.
“Speechless” will officially impact country radio next week, but it started as an instant smash upon release. Already it has pulled in more than 35 million streams and a quarter million track equivalent sales. Against the Mediabase Top 50, it currently ranks No. 8 in streams and No. 13 in both track equivalents and sales alone. For all 10 weeks that it has been available to fans, “Speechless” has remained Top 30 on Nielsen’s Country On-Demand Streaming chart.
