X Games Aspen 2016 kicked off with eleven of the world’s best winter action sports athletes for an unprecedented 15th consecutive year at Buttermilk Mountain on Wednesday afternoon (January 27) in Aspen, Colorado.Athletes present at the event included Danny Davis (Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe), Chloe Kim (Women’s Snowboard SuperPipe), Silje Norendal (Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle), Mark McMorris (Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle, America’s Navy Snowboard Big Air), Lindsey Jacobellis (Women’s Snowboard X), Gus Kenworthy (Men’s Ski SuperPipe, Men’s Ski Slopestyle, GoPro Ski Big Air), David Wise (Men’s Ski SuperPipe), Maddie Bowman (Women’s Ski SuperPipe), Colten Moore (Snowmobile Monster Energy Freestyle), and Tiril Sjåstad Christiansen (Women’s Ski Slopestyle). The event was emceed by X Games Extra host and former X Games competitor Jack Mitrani.
