Did You Notice These Easter Eggs in the Disney+ Marvel Series ‘WandaVision?’

The following post contains spoilers for WandaVision, episodes 1 & 2!

Last weekend, Disney+ finally released the first two episodes of the Marvel limited TV series, WandaVision, the first installment of phase four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU.

The storyline follows Wanda Maximoff AKA Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Vision, played by Paul Bettany, as they live through different decades of TV sitcoms. While the decades change, the main storyline of the pair remains the same. Wanda and Vision find themselves newly moved into a suburban neighborhood with no recollection as to why they did. As they live in this neighborhood, they discover eerie clues that make them suspect that there is something unusual about their reality.

Of course, Marvel superfans took in every detail of the first two episodes and discovered easter eggs that may lead to clues as to what’s really happening in the WandaVision universe.

Here are some easter egg discoveries so far in the first two episodes of WandaVision! (Warning: spoilers ahead!)

Wanda mentioning Vision’s “indestructible head”

In the first few minutes of the first episode, Wanda uses her superpowers to organize plates in the kitchen and ends up smashing a plate against Vision’s head. She then says, “My husband and his indestructible head!” This ironic quote could possibly be in reference to Avengers: Infinity War when Wanda had to remove the mind stone from Vision’s head, eventually resulting in his death.

Stark Industries and Strucker In-Episode Commerical Ads

In the first two episodes of the series so far, there have been commercial breaks promoting products with references to the MCU. In the first episode, the commercial for the ToastMate 2000 has multiple references to Iron Man himself, Tony Stark. The advertisement promotes a sleek and shiny toaster created by Stark Industries, the company of the Stark family. If you pay close attention, when the woman in the ad presses down on the toaster, you’ll hear a sound that closely mimics Iron Man’s suit. You’ll also see the scene break from black & white, providing a bright red light on the toaster, theorized to reference the color of Iron Man’s suit.

In the second episode, there is an advertisement for a Strucker watch. The ad displays the same couple in the previous commercial in the last episode, getting ready for a night out. At the end of the ad, there is a close up of the watch itself. If you look closely, you’ll see on the watch faceplate, “Strucker, Swiss Made, HYDRA 1000M.” Strucker may be a clear reference to any Marvel superfan, but if you’re not familiar, Strucker is of the leaders of HYDRA and is one of the main antagonists in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

S.W.O.R.D logo on the notebook and toy helicopter

At the end of episode one, the screen pans out to show that Wanda and Vision are being monitored in their TV sitcom reality. As the person off-screen closes their notebook, a symbol comes to display on the cover, and if you look at the computer screen on the left, there is the same symbol. Theorists have discovered that it is the symbol representing S.W.O.R.D, an intelligence agency that monitors threats towards Earth from the universe. This is Marvel’s first official introduction of the agency into the cinematic universe.

The logo also appears in episode two, when a red and yellow (which also happens to be the colors of Iron Man’s suit) toy helicopter depicting the logo breaks the black and white wall of their reality.

The mind stone depicted on the Cabinet of Mysteries

In episode two, Wanda and Vision are seen preparing for a magic show to perform in front of their entire neighborhood. As they are practicing, they bring out the cabinet of mysteries. On the cabinet, there is an illustration that looks similar to the mind stone. This could be disguised as a clue as to where the storyline is going.
