Disney Channel’s newest original movie “Descendants” began its first day of filming yesterday. The movie will bring back the one and only Kenny Ortega, the man behind the record setting “High School Musical” franchise, to bring the film to life.
Disney, however, was not shy in bringing in a star studded cast along with its Emmy Award winning director. Cast members will include familiar faces like Broadway Queen, Kristin Chenoweth, “The Twilight Saga’s” BooBoo Stewart, Disney Channel’s own Dove Cameron who stars in Liv and Maddie, and more.
“Descendants” takes place in a present day kingdom, following the offspring of the most iconic Disney villians, such a Maleficent and Cruella De Vil. In a modern day twist, the “descendants” of these villains attend a prep school alongside descendants of some of our favorite Disney heroes. A dilemma is faced, though… Do the teens follow in the footsteps of their notorious evil parents? Or do they embrace their inner goodness and help save the kingdom?
“Descendants” will air on Disney Channel in 2015!
