Dove Cameron Is Headed To the Upcoming Off-Broadway Musical “Clueless”

Would we even dream of missing this? AS IF.

Dove Cameron arrives at the 75th Annual Golden Globes Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

If there were ever a pairing more magical than Dove Cameron and musicals, we certainly haven’t heard of it. The star has wowed us with her dual acting and singing talents through Disney’s Descendants series, on television’s Hairspray Live!, and on stage in Hollywood Bowl’s Mamma Mia! That’s in addition to all zillion of her other iconic roles, of course. Now, it has been announced that Dove will be returning to the stage for an Off Broadway production of Clueless: The Musical in New York City.

Deadline is reporting that Dove will be taking on the lead role of Cher Horowitz in this highly-anticipated production, which is a stage adaptation of the popular 1990s film. Which is, as true Jane Austen fans will recognize, a modernized pop culture take on the author’s classic novel, Emma. The musical version’s book is by the movie’s original screenwriter and director, Amy Heckerling.

The actress has yet to confirm the exciting announcement on social media herself, but she did take to her Instagram to share she’s currently hurriedly packing up all of her things to move to New York City.

What we do know is that Dove is absolutely perfect for the role, and we can’t wait to see her shine!

The show is set to be presented by The New Group at the Pershing Square Signature Theater (located at 480 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036) for a limited engagement spanning from November 20, 2018 to January 13, 2019.
