Calling all football fans! It’s game time, slime time and time for audiences to receive their favorite NFL highlights in one spot! Nickelodeon and CBS Sports have teamed up to make this wish a reality with Nickelodeon’s NFL Slimetime, a half-hour weekly series the whole family can enjoy.

Hosted by former NFL player Nate Burleson and beloved Nick actor Young Dylan, the new weekly series has made a touchdown in terms of entertainment.

NFL Slimetime delivers all the action a fan could want such as “nick-ified” game highlights, spotlights on young football players, interviews with pro NFL players and even guest appearances from some of Nick’s biggest stars!

But the dream team doesn’t just stop at Burleson and Dylan — fans can also count on hosts Dylan Schefter and George Johnston IV to help deliver on this awesome show.

Schefter, a young prodigy in sports reporting, serves as the kids sports correspondent. Having delivered her first on-camera interviews at just eight years old in 2017, Schefter has taken her natural skill to the slime zone.

In an exclusive interview with Celeb Secrets, Schefter shared that getting to interview players is just one of the many things that make this job so special.

“It’s been great,” Schefter said. “I love working with Young Dylan, Nate Burleson and George Johnston. I think they’re all amazing people to be working with, super supportive and I love interviewing the players. I think it’s so fun getting more experience with interviewing and being able to just like be fun and creative and everything like that.”

From having fun to talking football, it’s no surprise the show is so well received by fans! For those who have not gotten to check out this new series, Schefter says that the weekly show offers everything NFL fans of all ages could hope for.

“They can anticipate a really fun, crazy show with highlights and super fun people, super creative people on the show that are just so energetic. The players who I interview are super great. The players who George talks about are great. Dylan and Nate give a really fun vibe to the show. They’re great hosts. I think it’s just such a fun show. When I grew up, when I was little, I never started learning about football until I started interviewing. So if I had a show like this, I would’ve loved that I would have went crazy over it.”

Giving a space for young football fans to indulge, NFL Slimetime achieves this goal with their young team of hosts. Johnston IV, an eight year old with an unmatched knack for football history and game play, has a segment on the show titled George Knows Football.

A dynamo in all things football, Johnston delivers big information with a big personality. Like many football fans, Johnston told us that this passion for the game stemmed from watching a Super Bowl game.

“Well, when I watched Super Bowl 53, I really wanted to go to the Super Bowl, so I asked my dad for some tickets and he said I had to work my way up,” Johnston explained. “So I just [said], ‘Well, let’s start researching.’ So I kept on researching and researching and then it got to the point where I got a YouTube channel and then one thing after another…NBC4 Kelly Clarkson and now, Nickelodeon.”

As one thing has led to another, Johnston’s sports knowledge now serves as a can’t-miss segment on this cant-miss show.

And what part of NFL Slimetime is Johnston’s favorite? Well aside from his part, he shared that he loves the fantasy showdown!

“Oh, my favorite part, other than my section, I like the fantasy showdown,” Johnston said. “I mean, you always got one famous person per week having a fantasy show down and I love to see Dylan and Nate with the crowns on their heads, but I still laugh when they get spaghetti or slime on their heads. I still laugh at that. So fantasy showdown [is] probably my favorite part.”

As far as Schefters favorite element to the show, she shared that she loves how fans can get the best moments of the week in a fun way.

“I love the graphics, honestly. I think it’s great with the virtual slime and the cartoon characters,” Schefter said. “I love seeing like the highlight reels of all the players and everything. I think it’s great that they reshow those, cause I’m busy sometimes during the week. So I love seeing like the highlights from the games and just like parts that I might’ve not seen before. I love all that”

Fans can catch all the slime, sports and stars on Nickelodeon on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. (ET/PT), with episodes available to stream on Paramount+ the following day!
