Elmo is getting a late-night show and we’re freaking out.
Everyone’s favorite furry little friend is swapping his everyday life on Sesame Street for a TV studio, for a new talk show series The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo, because, ya know, his bedtime is at 7:30.
The three-and-a-half-year-old red monster dropped the trailer with earlier this morning on his Twitter account and its jam packed with his Sesame Street friends Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Bert (who is in the control room) and Grover.
It also shows Elmo interviewing guests such as fellow late-night hosts Jimmy Fallon and John Oliver, comedian John Mullaney, New York Times best-selling author Kwame Alexander, actress Blake Lively, and award-winning musical acts Lil Nas X and the Jonas Brothers, with Kacey Musgraves singing “Rubber Duckie” and Pentatonix playing a round of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

The series will premiere on HBO Max beginning May 27th, the same day the new streaming platform launches. The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo joins the growing list of HBO Max originals, including the scripted comedy Love Life, starring Anna Kendrick; Sundance 2020 Official Selection feature documentary On the Record; underground ballroom dance competition series Legendary; Craftopia, hosted by YouTube sensation LaurDIY; the all-new Looney Tunes Cartoons, from Warner Bros. Animation; and more.
