Before Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle sat down with Oprah Winfrey to share their perspective on The Royal Family, the only inside look into the “institution” we had was from the hit drama-series The Crown.
Between The Crown and the CBS Primetime Special with Oprah, It’s no secret that Princess Diana walked, so Meghan Markle could run.Therefore, Celeb Secrets was thrilled to chat with award-winning Emma Corrin, who is best known for her role as Princess Diana, at the 2021 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday, March 7.

The dynamic and sophisticated actress spoke with our host Tiffany Goldstein after receiving the Critics Choice for “Best Actress in a Drama Series.” During the exclusive interview, Corrin shares what it was like to portray Princess Diana and having the responsibility that comes along with carrying out her legacy on screen.
“I mean yeah, it was a lot of responsibility. Initially, when I started doing research and preparing for the role, it felt quite overwhelming,” says Corrin to Celeb Secrets. “When I got the script and realized that it would be my own take on Diana and I could see what aspects of her I related to or wanted to bring out. It felt really important to our story and became such a beautiful, wonderful challenge as an actor. Working with [Josh] and everyone, made it less intimidating and more, just like the best job ever.”

While she may play a princess in the popular Netflix series, the 25-year-old thespian looked like a QUEEN on the “virtual” red carpet in an eye-catching Schiaparelli little black dress. But what brought the LBD over the top was the extraordinary pearl detailing. The cut-out center was outlined by the designer’s signature tooth pearl motif, making the show-stopping piece a mixture of classy, yet edgy.
When we asked about the comfort of the royal-inspired evening mini-dress, she explained that she wore statement earrings that kept her “balanced” and clarified that she could move freely in the piece. Although, when we spoke with the actress, the teeth jewels were removed and so was her flawless smokey eye.
When The Crown actress dialed in from the UK to accept the award, she took many back with her fresh-face. While some may say that she reached for a makeup wipe “too early” in the night, we on the other hand, respect a lady who can embrace her natural beauty and rock it!
