Fleurie Releases Enchanting New Track “Out Of The Blue” – Listen Now

Whether you know it or not, you’ve certainly heard Fleurie’s soft voice crooning through your TV speakers. Songs from her cinematic album release Love and War have been featured on shows like Pretty Little Liars, Shadowhunters, Reign, The Originals – even a Super Bowl commercial for the final season of critically-acclaimed show 24.

Today, the rising pop songstress is releasing an enchanting new track called “Out Of The Blue” that will be featured on her upcoming “cinematic and dreamy” album Portals, out August 17th.

“‘Out Of The Blue’ is a song about the chaos and beauty of falling in love,” says Fleurie. “The concept for the lyric video was the documentation of a love story from the perspective of a guy filming a girl he’s falling in love with in real time.”

In addition to releasing a new song, the ethereal singer/songwriter sat down with Celeb Secrets to discuss Portals, her stage name, and her influences.

Make sure to check out the full Q&A and watch the lyric video for “Out Of The Blue” below.

Celeb Secrets: How would you describe your sound for those who haven’t heard you yet?

Fleurie: “Definitely cinematic. Dreamy. Maybe a little bit more organic than pop pop.”

Celeb Secrets: Fleurie in French means “blooming flower.” What inspired you to adopt this name?

Fleurie: “I had a really hilarious process for picking an artist name. I was in college still when I came up with it and I knew that I didn’t want to go under just my name. I whittled it down to knowing that I wanted a one word, two syllables, French name, that started with an F. I love the word “fleur” and then one day I was in a mall and the name came to me. I went home, looked it up, and I was like, “That’s really perfect for what I feel like I want to be.” Even if you’re going through different seasons of life, you’re still kind of focused on flourishing or thriving.”

Celeb Secrets: Are there any teasers you can give us about your upcoming album Portals?

Fleurie: “It’s 11 tracks long. It also fits in the theme of Galaxy and space, which is fun.”

Celeb Secrets: Who would be your dream musician or songwriter to collaborate with?

Fleurie: “That would be Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay. I am like deeply obsessed with Chris Martin. Chris is everything that I want to be musically.”

Celeb Secrets: What advice would you give to aspiring singer songwriters?

Fleurie: “Just keep writing and keep performing. If you can play at a local coffee shop in your small town, do that! If you can play for your parents in your basement, do that! You have to write hundreds of songs to even start writing some that are decent. You write a lot before the gold comes to the surface through it all.”

Celeb Secrets: Who are your biggest musical influences?

Fleurie: “I don’t think I sound like most of the artists I listen to, but definitely Coldplay. One Republic is a big influence. Early Regina Spektor. I love the band Oasis, which is an older Brit rock band, and there’s one track on the record that has like an “Oasis” flair to it.”

Celeb Secrets: What are some goals you expect to accomplish in 2018?

Fleurie: “We’re trying to grow the reach of this brand a little bit more globally. Trying to get it in front of audiences specifically in the UK and Asia. I’ve really been focused on songwriting for the last few years and now I want to tour. A goal would be touring in the fall.”

Celeb Secrets:  Since we are Celeb Secrets, are there any secrets and fun facts about you?

Fleurie: “Most people don’t know that I lived in Australia for three years. That’s where I went to college, so that’s when I started really getting the travel bug and wanting to go to different places.”
