Henrik Harlaut Says The Inspiration Behind His Winning Tricks Comes from His ‘Brothers’

And it’s another win for Henrik Harlaut!

The 28-year-old Swedish skier snagged the coveted gold medal in The Real Cost Men’s Ski Big Air competition on Friday (January 24) at X Games Aspen 2020 — making this his sixth X Games gold medal and the biggest winningest skier in X Games history.

X Games Aspen 2020 Day 2 Recap – January 24, 2020

After advancing in the Elimination Round on Thursday (January 23), Harlaut came ready to win with a jam full of double and triple cork 1620s. Harlaut did the first-ever switch 1620 on skis 11 years ago, and brought it back in stylish fashion for the first time last night.

“My second run was a switch dub bio 16. I’ve been thinking about it for awhile. I did the two first switch 16s on skis 11 years ago, but didn’t really want to push it in that direction,” he said in a statement. “I’ve been working on my style for 11 years, trying to perfect it and tonight was the perfect night to bring it out with some flavor.”

Many emotions were filling the 28-year-old, as he told our reporters that he was feeling “love, peace, happiness, style, awesomeness, gratefulness, gratitude and smiles” after receiving the new piece of hardware.

“The inspiration behind my tricks come from the back of my mind in my little apartment with my brothers,” he said.
