Isaiah Mustafa Says ‘Shadowhunters’ Season 2B Is Going to Get “Really Twisted” Towards the End

Celeb Secrets: Can you tease anything about Season 2B? What can we expect?

Isaiah Mustafa: “When season 2A ended, Simon can go out in the sunlight. Clary discovers that she’s not Jace’s brother. So you’re gonna have that relationship kind of take a different turn. You’re gonna see Simon’s relationship with Clary kind of expand a little bit…a lot actually. It’s gonna expand a lot. You’re also gonna see this overwriting war between the downworlders and the shadowhunters come to a head. It’s gonna get really twisted towards the end.”

Celeb Secrets: What are you most excited for fans to see?

Isaiah Mustafa: “I’m most excited for fans to see the last 3 episodes of this upcoming season because that’s when for me things get really crazy.”

Celeb Secrets: In the first 15 mins of the premiere episode the other werewolves are saying that Luke shouldn’t lead the pack. What are your thoughts on that? Should he or should he not be the alpha?

Isaiah Mustafa: “I don’t think Luke should ever lead the pack to tell you the truth. I think that’s just me as a fan saying that. I think Luke has an obligation to his pack and that’s the world he kind of stepped into once he became a werewolf. With that being said, one of the easiest things to do once you were a shadowhunter and also have your ex girlfriend’s daughter, your dead girlfriend’s daughter, asking you for help.”

Celeb Secrets: What’s to come from Luke for this upcoming season?

Isaiah Mustafa: “You’re gonna get the same thing that Luke brings to the table, you’re gonna get his honesty and also his loyalty. But I also think you’re gonna see a little bit more fire from Luke. You’re gonna see him lose his temper a lot more and not able to control his emotions; which is a turning point for a werewolf.”

Celeb Secrets: Since we are Celeb Secrets, can you share a behind-the-scenes secret from filming Shadowhunters 2A that we won’t see when we watch the show?

Isaiah Mustafa: “Behind the scenes I will say this, there’s a debate on our cast of who the best basketball player is and it was shocking but it’s me! Matthew Daddario would probably differ, he wouldn’t agree with you at all. But I’m saying it and you can post it in print that I am a better basketball player than Matthew Daddario and I will take him down!”
