Jennifer Denali is back with another empowering track today and we can’t get enough of it.
The rising pop-R&B singer-songwriter and vocal powerhouse releases “Falling Leaves” exclusively with Celeb Secrets this morning, which is a sultry ballad that serves as a continuation of her personal journey to self-love stemming from her previous single, “Try.”
“‘Falling Leaves’ is a genuine return to self-love,” shares Jennifer. “It’s a metaphor for having the courage to break patterns and leave the four walls that you’re so used to, to find the freedom in loving yourself again. It’s about the moments of weakness helping to build a strong person and a stronger love for yourself. It is also hopeful and a reassurance that you’ll put yourself first the next time you’re in a relationship.”
Of the self-penned song, she adds, “I wrote this song because I was longing for the words that I could only tell myself. No one else can empower me to love myself, I have to do it alone.”
“Falling Leaves” (Dense Records) follows Jennifer’s recent single “Try,” a powerful opus about a spiritual journey to self-acceptance that includes accepting all mistakes and past judgements and learning that you must put yourself first and realize you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be, along with her debut single “Painkiller,” her take on losing someone to addiction and the irony of turning to your own addictions to get through the loss and numb the pain.
The music video, which you can see below, takes the song’s name quite literally as it shows Denali singing her heart out in colorful scenery. “The video is celebration of self. It’s beautiful and I wanted it to capture the evolution of what that looks like,” she says.
