Josh Peck Speaks Up About Drake Bell’s Child Endangerment Scandal

Josh Peck has spoken about his former co-star Drake Bell and his child endangerment scandal.

Variety spoke to Peck at the premiere of Turner and Hooch in Los Angeles on Thursday (July 15), about Bell’s recent child endangerment charges. “It’s upsetting, and it’s an unfortunate situation. It’s disappointing,” the actor said.

On Monday (July 14), Bell was charged guilty with attempted child endangerment and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, and was sentenced to two years of probation.

During a court appearance, the actor-singer apologized saying, “I accept this plea because my conduct was wrong. I’m sorry that the victim was harmed in any way, but that was obviously not my intention. I have taken this matter very, very seriously. And again, I just want to apologize to her and anyone else who may have been affected by my actions.”

The victim claimed Bell groomed her from the age of 12 and abused her when she was 15. She also revealed the actor had sent inappropriate messages and photos.

Peck and Bell had starred together in the popular Nickelodeon sitcom, Drake and Josh, which ran from 2004 to 2007. But their friendship became a little estranged after the show ended. In 2017, Bell had mentioned he “officially cut ties” with Peck after not being invited to his wedding. He told E! News, “I kinda shot from the hip. I was like, ‘This is wrong! Why am I finding out about this on social media?’ I just felt like a bummed-out brother, just kind of hurt. But it does nothing to our relationship.

But the feud didn’t last for too long after Peck posted an Instagram photo, the two hugging it out at the 2017 MTV Movie Awards, with the caption, “Hug me…”
