It was a night Houston won’t soon forget – Journeys’ “Off To Prom”!
Students filled Silver Street Studios on Thursday, May 17th for a completely different prom – that included a red carpet entrance, interactive photobooths, DJ Ill-Set, food from yummy local restaurants, live performances, a live painting graffiti artist GONZO247 and much more.
As if that wasn’t cool enough, the prom included special appearances by social media stars Baby Ariel and Daniel Skye – who hosted the event – and GRAMMY Award-winning artist Daya who dazzled students with a performance.
“I’m so happy that I got to go to prom with one of my favorite people on the planet! Daniel and I had so much fun! Thank you Journeys and Converse for inviting us!,” said Baby Ariel.
Journeys and Converse also announced they would be making a monetary donation to Boys & Girls Club of Houston.
“Houston has played such an important role in the history of our company over the past 30 years and is home to several of our early Journeys stores,” noted Kari Irons, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Journeys. “We are so grateful to be able to bring Off To Prom here, where we celebrated art, dance, music, individuality, friendship and fun with the amazing and inspiring teens of Houston.”
The prom was open to all high school students in the Houston area ages 13-19 years old who won a nationwide campaign to bring the event to their city. Check out highlight photos from the event here:
