Katy Perry Speaks the Truth about Being Picked for the Super Bowl Halftime @katyperry

454167791Katy Perry is set to headline this years Super Bowl half time show and wants her fans to know that she did not pay NFL to let her be the performer.

The Wall Street Journal had reported that this year the National Football League was asking potential performers to make a “financial contribution” to NFL to perform the halftime show.

In November, Perry was announced to be the choice performer and for months now has been letting the public know that she did not pay any money to perform.

“I said, ‘Look guys, here’s where I draw a line in the sand. I want to be invited on my own merits and not with some fine print. I stuck to my position…I don’t care if my contract leaks…I have nothing to hide, basically.” said Perry when asked about the subject.

Perry has promised a 12-minute mash-up of all  of her biggest hits in her performance and has released that Lenny Kravitz will be also performing with her on the stage.

She feels that she is the perfect pick for the NFL performance “I’m all about female empowerment and uplighting people’s spirits, and people finding their own voice with songs like ‘Roar’ and ‘Firework,’ so maybe there is no better person”.

“I’m not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl” said Perry.
