Congrats are in order for Kevin Rolland, Gus Kenworthy, and Benoit Valentin!
The professional skiers took home the gold, silver, and bronze medals (respectively) for the Men’s Ski SuperPipe Final on Thursday evening (January 28) during X Games Aspen 2016 at Buttermilk Mountain.
The Men’s Ski SuperPipe Final had one of the most exciting victories of the day. Frenchman Kevin Rolland took the win on his final run with a score of 93.33.
Dropping into the pipe in tenth place as the last competitor of the evening, Rolland started his run off with a switch double cork 1080 before launching into a right side double cork 1260 followed by the same on the left side. The run edged out Gus Kenworthy’s score of 92.33.
Last night’s win marks Rolland’s first X Games gold medal in six years. The silver medal was Gus Kenworthy‘s first. Rounding out the podium was Rolland’s fellow countryman Benoit Valentin with a score of 90.66.

X Games Aspen 2016 continues today with Women’s Snowboard Slopestyle, Women’s Ski Slopestyle, Monster Energy Snowmobile Freestyle, Women’s Ski SuperPipe and America’s Navy Snowboard Big Air as well as musical act twenty one pilots taking the stage immediately following the competition.
