Aladdin is bringing magic to Music City!

This holiday season, Aladdin is looking to make another wish come true. But this time, there’s a twist. From the producers of “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance,” Lythgoe Family’s Aladdin and His Winter Wish takes the classic fairytale we all know and love and combines it with modern pop music, such as Bruno Mars’ “Treasure” and Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman.”

The star-studded cast features a few familiar faces, including Kira Kosarin from Nickelodeon’s hit TV series The Thundermans, Damon J. Gillespie from NBC’s Rise and Empire, and Richard Karn of Home Improvement.

“I get to live out my Bruno Mars dream!” Gillespie told Celeb Secrets about why he’s excited to play the role of Aladdin. “Everyone loves a good underdog story. I always loved seeing or watching Aladdin growing up. I could do this show 100 times.”

The show is a Panto play, meaning it’s filled with comedy, dancing, character exaggeration and audience participation. It is specifically designed to attract audiences of all ages and be a memorable experience a family can share together. The story has been modernized with topical scripts for parents and well-known pop songs for kids.

“Everyone does ‘The Nutcracker.’ This is just another thing that could become a new family tradition,” Kira Kosarin shared. “The little kids love it. They can interact and be loud and be goofy. It’s a great way for them to have their world open to theater.
