New music from Lauv is on the way!
The pop visionary shared details about his debut album, ~how i’m feeling~ earlier today, and its expected release date is March 6, 2020.
On the upcoming album, Lauv said, “I’ve been working on this album for a long time, but today marks the true beginning of the new era.’~how i’m feeling~’ is about embracing personality and all its different aspects. I created 6 different characters represented by purple (existential Lauv), blue (hopeless romantic Lauv), green (goofy Lauv), yellow (positive Lauv), orange (fuckboy Lauv) and red (spicy Lauv™️), all of which make up my identity.”
~how i’m feeling~ will feature twenty-one original songs, including his GOLD-certified single “i’m so tired…” in collaboration with Troye Sivan, “Drugs & The Internet,” “Feelings” and “Sad Forever,” which was written in the midst of the pop visionary’s own struggle with mental health. In addition, his duet with Anne-Marie — “fuck, i’m lonely” — will be on the record, which has over 125 million streams to date.
Speaking with Celeb Secrets host Juliet Schroder backstage at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Festival last month, Lauv says that the body of work is a “way more full scope of who he is as a person” as it includes songs about anything and everything.
“My last album/playlist was seventeen songs about one girl, and this album is not that. It’s about a lot of things — obviously love, breakups, there’s a song about my dog, my favorite bar, my parents, everything,” he shared. “I would just say it’s a way more full scope of who I am as a person.”
