Lily James is ditching the movie scene along with her natural brunette look to star as, Baywatch’s Pamela Anderson in Pam & Tommy.
The English actress/model was caught strutting around in the streets of Los Angeles, while wearing a COVID-friendly mask and neon orange romper to cover her full costume.
Set to premiere as a miniseries on Hulu, James’s latest gig will portray the twisted plot that exposes the history behind leaked sex tapes between Anderson and her ex-husband Tommy Lee.
For those of us who may be in need of a historic recap, Anderson and Lee ran into a debacle that infringed their rights to privacy when someone broke into their home back in 1995. The break-in led to the theft of a sex tap from the couple’s honeymoon. To make matters worse, the tape quickly circulated the internet, ultimately setting off a long chain of legal issues.
Compared to James’s family-centric portrayals in films like Cinderella and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the upcoming series marks a major change in artistic direction. Not only is the content far more mature and provocative, but we also get to see James in the aftermath of a total makeover.
At first thought, it was honestly hard to imagine the ultra-feminine actress filling the shoes of a grungy, promiscuous Playboy star. However, seeing recent shots of James with her platinum blonde locks and new make-up is quickly changing our minds. After all, there’s got to be a story behind the timeless saying ‘blondes have more fun.’
Captain America’s ,Sebastian Stan will star alongside James as Tommy. Although we haven’t spotted any leaked shots of Stan on set, we can likely expect that he will have to rough up his clean-cut look to embody a tattoo-covered heavy metal rockstar.
The star-studded cast also features Seth Rogen as Rand Gauthier, Taylor Schilling as Erica Gauthier, Pepi Sonuga as Melanie, Nick Offerman as Uncle Miltie and more!
