Lindsey Lamer Shares Her Favorite Moments from ‘Broken Memories’ & ‘Girl Meets World’ – Exclusive

You may know Lindsey Lamer best as playing Young Riley on Disney Channel‘s popular series, Girl Meets World. But the 10-year-old actress has also been hard at work with exciting new movie projects, including the latest buzzed-about family film, Broken Memories. Celeb Secrets recently caught up with Lindsey and asked her to dish on all of her big career moments — past, present, and future. Check out our exclusive Q & A below.

Celeb Secrets: Can you tell us a little bit about Broken Memories, and what it was like filming the drama?

Lindsey Lamer: Broken Memories is about Jasper, played by Rance Howard, an older gentleman struggling with Alzheimer’s and the effect it has on both him and his caretaker son (Ivan Sergei). My character Emmy is the daughter of the Jasper’s (Rance Howard) caretaker, Maggie (Kelly Greyson). My character spends time talking with Jasper and befriending him at his farm house. You can download Broken Memories on VOD. It’s a beautiful family film.

Rance Howard was a legend and my family was heartbroken to learn of his passing. Rance was extraordinarily talented and so down-to-Earth. My dad and I hung out with him on set and we talked about growing up in Oklahoma. All three of us are from Oklahoma. I am so glad to have worked with Rance on the movie.

Celeb Secrets: What did you learn from being on that set and working with the cast?

Lindsey Lamer: My favorite part of working on the film was working with Rance Howard and Kassi Crews. Michael Worth was a great director. Kelly Greyson and Ivan Sergei were so nice. The set experience was fun, and we filmed in an old farmhouse. I learned much about Alzheimer’s and how it affects families.

Celeb Secrets: What was your experience working on Girl Meets World like?

Lindsey Lamer: I’ve always been a Disney fan, so joining the cast of Girl Meets World was like a dream! The cast and crew were so kind, and the atmosphere was fun and friendly. Girl Meets World fans are the best, so supportive and sweet. I was very fortunate to have worked with Michael Jacobs, the creator of Girl Meets World.

Celeb Secrets: Can you share any fun stories from your time on set?

Lindsey Lamer: Ben Savage (Cory) was so funny. He was always making me laugh. I enjoyed watching him create on set. He is a very talented actor and I learned so much from my time on set. Ivy George (Young Maya) and I became close friends.

My favorite scene in Girl Meets World was the “Bay Window” episode where we did the musical number with Young Farkle, Young Maya and the grown-up Lucas. I love to sing and that episode was so much fun to shoot.

Celeb Secrets: Who is your biggest acting inspiration?

Lindsey Lamer: Gal Gadot represents a strong role model for girls and shows that girls can be superheroes too. She is an inspiration to me.

Celeb Secrets:  What is the best advice you’ve gotten from a family member?

Lindsey Lamer: My older sister is an actress. When I was little, I watched her musical theatre performances and she inspired me to be an actress. She always says to put your heart into your performance and pursue what you love.

Celeb Secrets: Do you have any cool hidden talents?

Lindsey Lamer: I am learning to play the violin. I would love to be part of an orchestra when I am older.

Celeb Secrets: Do you remember the very first time you went to a red carpet event, and what the experience was like?

Lindsey Lamer: Yes! My first red carpet event happened just last month! I walked the red carpet for the premier of Broken Memories. It was an amazing experience! I had so much fun talking with reporters and catching up with the cast. Rance Howard’s family, Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard, attended the premier and it was such an honor to meet them. I am a huge fan of How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Jurassic World. The premier was a night I will never forget.
