Sideah Garrett released a new single for a good cause on Friday and Celeb Secrets has everything you need to know about the empowering track.
On Friday (April 28), the GRAMMY award-winning and two-time Oscar nominated singer/songwriter unveiled “Carry On,” which encourages people to “keep staying strong and carry on.”
“I’ve always embraced the opportunity to use my God-given talent as a lyricist to support social causes and charities, and encourage others to do the same,†said Garrett. “With MS, for me it’s very personal, in that someone close to me is fighting the disease. If my songs in some small way can make a difference, then I’ll keep on writing.â€
Garrett was inspired to write the song after meeting Race to Erase MS founder Nancy Davis and learning about Davis’ dedication to the fight against multiple sclerosis and seeing her passion for the cause. “Carry On†was written shortly after, in hopes of raising much needed funds and awareness in support of MS research. Available now for purchase, all proceeds from the single will go directly to the Race to Erase MS to support their mission of finding treatment options and, ultimately, a cure for multiple sclerosis.
Supporters of Race to Erase MS will be able to hear Garrett perform “Carry On” for the first time ever at the 24th Annual Race to Erase MS Gala this Friday, May 5th.
