Maddie Bowman Wins Gold in Women’s Ski SuperPipe at 2015 Winter X Games (@maddiebowman)

Under the the falling snow, X Games Aspen 2015 kicked off Wednesday night with Maddie Bowman claiming her third-consecutive X Games gold in Women’s Ski SuperPipe.

The 2014 Olympic Gold medalist tallied her highest score on her third run with a score of 85.66. The winning run consisted of a right 900, a left-side mute, left-side tail, straight-air mute, left-cork nine, right 720, and a switch 720. Japan’s Ayana Onozuka finished second, with a silver medal score of 83.33 and Brita Sigourney took the bronze with a score of 78.66.

“I think the secret to winning is just having fun. We are just out here trying to have the best time with our friends. When you are having a great time is when you are skiing your best,” Maddie said in a statement after winning the first gold medal at the X Games Aspen 2015.

Tomorrow X Games Aspen 2015 opens to the fans starting at 11 a.m. MDT. Finals for Mono Skier X, the inaugural Special Olympics Unified Snowboarding, Snowmobile Speed & Style and the crowd favorite Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe will be held.
