poutyface is the latest phenomenon to come from the Internet!
The 18-year-old singer/songwriter rose to popularity on the songwriting app Voisey. Starting in January 2019, up until now, she has written over 150 songs on the app, and has become the top artist on the platform.
“poutyface actually started off as a hook for a song I wrote in this songwriting app, Voisey,” she tells Celeb Secrets. “My manager and I thought it was a great name. We went with poutyface because it just felt right. poutyface represents me because she is me. poutyface online is exactly who you’d meet in real life.”
After listening to her hypnotic voice, it is no surprise that fans have spent over 1 million minutes of time streaming her songs.
“I’m a massive believer in the importance of pen game!! All of my biggest inspirations are incredible lyricists so Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Mereba, to name a few. I’m also a huge fan of Doja Cat,” she says. “I think I’m attracted to music with a lot of soul, but honestly, I listen to every genre and pull inspiration from every angle. And my taste is constantly changing. Ultimately, great lyrics are the common thread in most of the music I’m influenced by and its something I’ll never compromise on.”
After becoming a house hold name with songwriters, producers, and artists, poutyface released her debut single, “Deathwish” which amassed nearly 500,000 streams across platforms.
“I hope people either love it or hate it! My favorite kind of art is polarizing, even the stuff I dislike the most, so ultimately I want to illicit a reaction out of people. You might hate me, but you will remember me,” the singer says of her music.
