This year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala pays tribute to American couturier Charles James on Monday in New York. So many big stars walked the carpet and there were so many hits and misses. Overall, there were a lot of celebrities rocked the carpet, it was hard to pick just one. So here are favorite top 10 of the night.
#10 – Blake Lively
Blake Lively wore a beautiful long gold gown by Gucci with a train. It hugged her body in all the right areas, her husband Ryan Reynolds, even commented that the dress looked like it was painted on her. She looked like a goddess.
#9 – Sarah Jessica Parker
While others will disagree that Sarah Jessica Parker’s dress was not the best, I think she is the definition of MET Gala. She stuck with the theme and portrays the confidence and glamour of Carrie Bradshaw. She is known for fashion and she portrayed it well on the carpet. From the black and white Oscar de la Renta gown to the gloves, we say she definitely knocked it out of the park.
Hailee Steinfield was seen wearing a black and white Prabal Gurung gown. At just 17 years old, the “Enders Star” looked elegant and sophisticated. She picked the perfect dress that didn’t make her look too old or too young for her age.
#7 – Rihanna in a Stella McCartney dress
Rihanna never seizes to amaze us. She kept it simple, but sexy. She went with a simple white, turtleneck, crop top and a tight, white skirt that hugged her curves in all the right places. The top showed enough of her toned abs to keep us wondering.
#6 – Cara Delevingne in a Stella McCartney top, pants, and shoes
Cara has to be our favorite from the night hands down. She stayed with the black and white theme, but switched the gown for pants. She looked both elegant and sexy walking down the carpet. Her top showed skin in all the right places, while she kept her bottom half covered. Her hair and shoes added to the elegance, everything about it was perfect. We’re glad she changed it up and went with pants unlike everyone else.
#5 – Emma Stone
Emma Stone went with the color blocking trend and paired a bright pink skirt with a lighter shade of pink as her top. The midriff and the slit showed off her body, but not enough to where you want her to put some clothes on. She kept it safe and simple, adding a fishtail braid. She’s like the “girl next door,” everyone wants to get to know.
#4 – Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift reminded me of a Princess. Her light pink, long gown with a train reminded me of something a Disney Princess would wear to a ball. It was fitted nicely and her hair went well with it. It was glamourous, yet sweet.
#3 – Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez kept it safe with a tight hugging maroon dress that matched her lipstick. She kept it safe, but it worked. She looked amazing, the color and the fitting of the dress went well with her skin color and body type.
#2 – Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner is another one of our favorites we can’t stop talking about. The color of the dress was much like Taylor Sweet, which gave her a sweet an innocent look. The mermaid dress hugged her body and gave her more length. She looked beautiful and elegant, she was dressed as if she was really going to a ball. *Heart Eye Emoji*
#1 – Christine Teigen
Chrissy Tegan has to be one of our favorite people, if you don’t follow her on twitter you should. She’s a swimsuit model and it totally shows in this dress. Her silver, glittery dress was perfect for the gala. She added a little creativity on the top, without overdoing it. Her accessories went perfectly with her dress. John Legend is a very lucky man.
