Mozart is using her powerful voice to tell the patriarchy #TimesUp with her latest single and WE. ARE. HERE. FOR. IT.
The 18-year-old singer released her track “Push You Harder” earlier this month, which is a passionate female empowerment anthem about smashing the glass ceiling, healing that pain, and taking the power back which could not come at a more culturally relevant time.
“I wrote ‘Push You Harder’ a few days after I turned 17 last fall when there was a lot going on with the beginning of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements,” Mozart tells Celeb Secrets. “I care a lot about these issues and want to do my part to make our world a better place for everyone, so I wanted to write a girl power anthem that had an important message but was also fun, edgy and uplifting.”
Today, Mozart is giving Celeb Secrets the exclusive first look at the song’s acoustic video, which she says shows her “raw, artistic side” as well as “haunting lyrics.”
“As much as I love the music video we made for this song, I wanted to do an acoustic version to show the raw, artistic side of the song and haunting lyrics. Sometimes paring everything away to the ultimate simplicity helps shed more light on a topic,” the singer continues. “Just me and the piano touching one on one to my fans and viewers telling this familiar tale we live and providing inspiration for change. To get that change women and young people must use their power to vote and stand up to injustices. So I think the timing is perfect.”
Although she was born in California, Mozart was raised in 48 countries as her and her family made headlines around the world as the digital nomad family better known as the “Soul Travelers,” who traveled the planet non-stop for 10 years together across 5 continents on $23 a day. After just finishing a 10 city solo concert tour in Europe, the release of the track off her upcoming debut EP with Grammy-winning producer Mikal Blue is for her dedicated fans around the world to channel their strength and push back.
