Happy Monday, readers!

Our “Music Monday” artist this week is a singer/songwriter that;s redefining pop music with her fresh new sound named Annie Bany.

Born and raised on a farm town just outside of Portland, Oregon, Annie was involved with music from a very young age. When she was a little girl, Annie was always singing and learned to play guitar from her father. In high school, Annie paired up with a vocal coach who encouraged her to write songs. After high school, Annie decided to follow in the footsteps of a fellow singer/songwriter she greatly admired — Taylor Swift — and move to Nashville to attend Music City’s prestigious Belmont University and pursue a career in music.

Currently, Annie is in the studio working on her full-length album that will be dropping later this year. The album will feature original songs including “Paradise,” “SUPERLOVE,” and her debut single “Hot Lipz.” Annie is also hosting a contest for one lucky fan to win a year supply of chocolates from Moonstruck Chocolate Co. For more information on the contest, visit Annie’s official Twitter page (linked below).

CS4U exclusively premiered the first look to “Hot Lipz” on our Instagram page. You can check out the teaser here. We also caught up with Annie recently to talk about her debut single “Hot Lipz” and the inspiration behind it, her plans for 2015, and her miniature donkey named Burrito.

Check out the music video for “Hot Lipz” and our Q&A with Annie below. For more information on Annie Bany, follow her on Twitter at @AnnieBany1.

Annie Bany – “Hot Lipz” – Music Video

CS4U: So I wanted to talk a little bit about your song, “Hot Lipz.” Can you tell us a little bit about it, and what inspired the song?

Annie: “Yeah! First and foremost, I want to say thank you for posting my lyric reveal because that was awesome.”

CS4U: No problem!

Annie: “I really appreciate it, and I thought it was so cool to see it. Okay, what inspired it was, it captures my personality in a song. I’m very unafraid to tell people what I think about them, especially guys, so it’s really a song about owning liking someone, or owning wanting to kiss someone, and you just go up to them and you pour out your heart to them. And so it’s just an inspirational song to be like, go for it.”

CS4U: And what made you decide to go for the 90’s pop feel for this track?

Annie: “I think it was because I grew up with 90’s pop, and I just always really, really loved it, and I’ve always been drawn to that sound. And I just thought, 90’s sounding things really inspire me, and it was just a natural sound to kind of get into, in the sense that it kind of reflects my childhood too, and I feel like it fit.”

CS4U: And would you say that’s your overall sound with all of your music, or do you switch it up a little bit?

Annie: “I feel like it’s a pretty broad explanation of my songs, or a characteristic of my songs, so yeah, pretty much all of them have that kind of 90’s nostalgic feel, roller skate pop, double dutch pop kind of feel.”

CS4U: What are your plans for 2015? Will you be releasing any new music, or any touring plans, stuff like that?

Annie: “Yeah, we’re gearing up to do a radio tour, and trying to get my song out for people to listen to. I’m also gearing up to launch an album that’s going to come out early summer, that has like a tentative date right now. So yeah, be looking out for new music, I’m planning another video, yeah, just full speed ahead!”

CS4U: That’s awesome! If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be and why?

Annie: “I think it would be awesome to collaborate with Cindy Lauper, just because I love “Girls Just Wanna have Fun,” I love listening to all of her other music, so I just think it would be really fun, girly, and a lot of neon.”

CS4U: For our readers who haven’t heard of you yet, why do you think they should check out “Hot Lipz”?

Annie: “I think that people should check out “Hot Lipz” because it’s a shameless pop song that is really easy to get into and really exciting and fun, and it just makes you feel happy. That’s what I try to do with all my music too, it’s just music that will make you feel happy and get you inspired to take on the day or take on the night, or whatever! Whatever you want to take on.”

CS4U: And since our website is called CelebSecrets4U, do you have any secrets or hidden talents that our readers may not know about you?

Annie: “I have a secret that I have a miniature donkey named Burrito. Most people don’t know that, and he’s super cute and I love him!”
