Music Monday: Meet Gigi Rich

Happy Monday, readers!

This week, our #MusicMonday artist of the week may be a familiar face to you if you watched season seven of The Voice in 2014.

Gigi Rich is a singer/songwriter hailing from Freehold, NJ. She grew up listening to Alicia Keys and Amy Winehouse as a quiet, shy Jersey girl who spent time watching old movies, reading Madame Bovary and Lolita, and playing with her big sister’s makeup. She went on to write her first song at age 13 which went on to top the Songwriter’s Circle charts for several months. Building on this success, she won Amateur Night at The Apollo Theater and was also selected by Bill Seidman to participate in the BMI sponsored professional songwriters workshop. As a true testament of her ambition, she graduated high school at age 16, has attended classes at Juilliard, and is taking online courses at Berklee College of Music, all while maintaining a busy rehearsal, performance and writing schedule.

In 2014, Rich landed a spot on Team Gwen during the seventh season of The Voice and grew as an artist after that once-in-a-lifetime experience. She then worked hard in the studio on original music, releasing her debut EP All In My Head in March. The 5 track extended play features her bouncey single “Same Kind of Crazy.”

Celeb Secrets sat down with Gigi to talk about her music! In the video, Rich shares her experience on The Voice and dishes on her latest EP All In My Head, which you listen to below.
