Music Monday: Meet Skylar Stecker

Happy Monday, readers!

Meet our final Music Monday artist for 2015, Skylar Stecker.

Skylar Stecker is a rising teen star whose music is filled with hip-hop-inspired beats, electro-pop synths, and R&B-laced grooves. The 13-year-old has over 29 million views and 300,000 subscribers on YouTube and made her national TV debut on the Today Show as Elvis Duran’s“Artist of the Month” earlier this year. In addition, Stecker recently released her debut studio album This Is Me and opened for Kalin and Myles on their Crazy For Christmas tour this holiday season.

“The reason why I make music is to express myself and to touch other people,” Skylar says. “To get my point across to other people is just a really great feeling. When I meet fans and they tell me they love my music, I know that I’m doing my job and its such a great feeling.”

What’s next for Skylar Stecker? More music and shows! “I would love to do more live shows,” Skylar tells us. “I think going on some sort of tour would be really fun. I would also love to have another album out in the new year.”

CelebSecrets4U caught up with Skylar Stecker before her performance on the LA stop of the Crazy For Christmas Tour with Kalin and Myles to talk all things music! In our interview, the 13-year-old singer/songwriter opened up about making her debut album, working with tour mates Kalin and Myles, and what we can expect from her in 2016.
