Congrats are in order for Nick Goepper this afternoon!

The 20-year-old professional freestyle skier snagged the coveted gold medal for the third time in a row in the Men’s Ski Slopestyle competition at X Games Aspen 2015 by scoring a 93.66. Goepper initially failed to qualify for the finals, but made the event after Alex Beaulieu-Marchand withdrew due to injury.

Sochi Olympics Gold Medalist Joss Christensen grabbed his first X Games Aspen Medal taking the silver with a score of 90.66. Third went to Canadian Alex Bellemare, who had a high score of 85.66.

When asked about his three-peat, Goepper said, “This feels incredible. This year has been the craziest roller coaster ride of my entire life and it feels amazing. Just been trying to put my head down this year and have as much fun as possible and train hard.”

CS4U caught up with Nick right after his first practice for the Men’s Ski Slopestyle competition at the X Games. In our interview, Goepper talks about his strategy to keep his defending title (which he did), his experience in the Sochi Olympics last year, and his hopeless romantic personality.
