We were super happy when we heard that Nickelodeon’s comedy series Max & Shred was renewed for a second season, but when we heard that the cast was headed back to set to begin filming season two, we could not contain our excitement!

Joan Lambur, who is the executive producer of Max & Shred and the executive vice-president of family entertainment for Breakthrough Entertainment, announced that the cast and crew are officially working on season two as of this Monday, May 11th.

The internationally successful buddy comedy chronicles the hilarious and unlikely friendship between Max Asher (Jonny Gray) , a celebrity snowboarder, and Alvin “Shred” Ackermann (Jake Goodman), a science wiz-kid, who become roommates and instant “bros” when Max moves to Colorado to train for the Winter Cup. The show centers on the boys’ odd couple relationship as they help and hinder each other through the trials of teenage life.

In the second season, someone gets a new reality show, someone gets a major crush, and someone struggles with leaving for University. Rest assured, some things will remain the same such as Max and Shred’s bro factor and the crazy cast of characters that populate Blizzard Springs.

CelebSecrets4U caught up with Jake Goodman and Jonny Gray recently, where they told us all things about Max & Shred, including what we can expect from season two!

Take a read at the Q&A below. Season 2 of Max & Shred will air Nickelodeon soon.

CS4U: What can you tell us about season 2 of Max and Shred? Are there any episodes you’re particularly looking forward to?

Jonny Gray: “The second season of “Max & Shred” will be absolutely hilarious. Although we have only filmed a few episodes, they have all been excellently written and will be sure to have everyone laughing.”

Jake Goodman: “I can’t give away any plot lines yet, but you can look forward to new characters, old characters coming back, and an even more hilarious season!”

CS4U: What is like on set with the rest of the cast?

Jonny Gray: “The cast of “Max & Shred” are great people. They have provided me with such great support and so many good memories that I will cherish for years to come. They are family to say the least.”

Jake Goodman: “Max and Shred is fun because the cast is so awesome.  We’re like a big family.  I have a great time working with everyone at Max and Shred — the cast and our crew.  It’s such a fun environment to be in every day.”

CS4U: What was it like attending the KCAs this year? Do you have a favorite moment from the show?

Jonny Gray: “The KCAs were a blast. My favorite part was definitely when people got slimed!”

Jake Goodman: “My favorite part of the KCAs was getting to meet actors from all the other different Nickelodeon shows.  I even met Josh Peck who used to be on “Drake & Josh.”  Plus we got to see cool LA atractions like the Santa Monica Pier and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

CS4U: How does your character grow in season 2?

Jonny Gray: “I think Max has become a lot more mature. But he’s still the energetic and friendly snowboarder that you know from the first season.”

Jake Goodman: “We just started season 2 so I honestly don’t know yet what happens to Alvin.  I’ll definitely keep you guys posted!”

CS4U: If you could have anyone guest star on your show, who would you choose?

Jonny Gray: “Eminem. I love rap music and he has been a kind of idol of mine.”

Jake Goodman: “I think it would be really fun to have an Olympic snowboarder on the show because Max and Shred is all about snowboarding and it would be really neat to have a pro.”

CS4U: Since our website is called CS4U, do you have any on-set secrets about filming Max & Shred?

Jonny Gray: “One season 2 secret is that there are some more crazy animal guests set to appear!”

Jake Goodman: “Once for a promo shoot, we had a fitting and the wardrobe people brought me and Jonny girls leggings!  We obviously couldn’t fit into them and the situation was kinda awkward.”
