Niki & Gabi DeMartino are known for being straight up with their millions of fans online through their YouTube videos, vlogs, and Instagram posts.
But after the big trailer reveal for the fifth season of their reality series Niki & Gabi Take Bahamas, it seems that people will be seeing them in ways they never have before as its filled with drama, drama and more drama.
“It’s international and our phones get taken away this season,” Gabi tells Celeb Secrets. “There’s two new cast members and with no phones, you know there’s going to be [explosive] drama. We’re going over a bunch of issues that a lot of people can relate to.”

Starring Niki; Gabi; respective boyfriends Nate West and Collin Vogt; sister Alex DeMartino; and friends Dennis Wot, Rachel Weiss, and Jesse Marie; the crew escapes the suburbs for a vacation to the Bahamas. Will it be all fun in the sun or will relationships be put to the test?
“There’s a lot of themes in this season that have never been touched in any of our previous seasons, which is really weird and it could partially be because of the phones being taken away,” Niki says to Celeb Secrets. “It may sound stupid, but once you get those out of the equation, people can’t really escape to anything. We’re kind of all with each other and I feel like there’s a lot of problems with self-identity, self-love, and navigating through your twenties. You realize that blood is thicker than water and that family at the end of the day is all you have.”

Aside from getting the realness from both Niki & Gabi, viewers will be introduced to two new friends that bring some serious jaw-dropping moments throughout each episode. Niki invited her boyfriend’s best friend Kyle Werner and Gabi invited her BFF and Blood Queens co-star Alex Byrd, and the girls couldn’t stop gushing over them when we asked about bringing them to the Bahamas.
“I didn’t have the best relationship [with Kyle] because we would always fight, but after the trip he calls me his ‘girl bro’ so I was happy to choose him,” Niki shares.
“[Having Alex] was awesome because the last time I had a best friend on the show was two seasons ago,” Gabi adds.

Without giving too much away, Niki & Gabi Take Bahamas gets so crazy to the point where someone actually leaves the island before the season wraps. The girls say that they were “so excited” to go home because they “were emotionally drained” while filming.
“I’m excited for our audience to get real close to us. There’s just things that I would never vlog or post about, but because this is what we signed up for. There were GoPros in our rooms. We thought we were getting away from the cameras but we weren’t because there was always a camera somewhere hidden, so they’re really going to feel close to us, specifically through a lot of embarrassing moments that happen to me that I would never post about,” Niki says. “It’s a reality show. This is what we signed up for.”
“I’m looking forward for people to see relatable arguments and us trying to navigate our twenties,” Gabi adds. “There’s a lot of things on the show that we talk about that we would never talk about on the Niki and Gabi channel or on our vlog channels. Like Niki said, there’s no hiding and they capture everything this season.”
Niki & Gabi Take Bahamas premieres this Saturday, April 18th on AwesomenessTV’s YouTube channel, with new episodes airing weekly every Saturday.
